New Year's Eve 2006

Posting after a long time. Don't know what all to share, a lot happened, though nothing too eventful!

Work, for one, is burgeoning like there's no tomorrow, as usual.
Ok, I have something better to talk on... my New Year's eve...

New Year party was fun, had been to Mahabaleshwar with my family and family friends. We had booked a bungalow there, and by the time we reached with a truck-full of stuff (beds, tables, chairs, blankets, pillows, catering stuff, including stove, vegetables glasses, etc.) it was already dark, and the damned electricity had gone off!!! For good part of 2 hours, we skilfully moved each item from the truck into the bungalow with just mobile LCD as torches! And only later were we able to kick generator into life. Everything set, we were ready to rock! Bad that I don't like to dance, but it was fun watching others dance as if it's the last time they will ever get a chance to dance! Man, the energy levels were as high as never before! There were games for everyone, from 5yr old kid to 50 yrs oldies!

The whole of kids(?) gang, myself included!

After the din of endless dancing, boozing (for some people), karaoke'ing, dining, cracking jokes, playing pranks, we all retired to stinking beds.

The morning of 1st Jan of 2007 was refreshingly wonderful. Pleasantly cool and serene, air free of pollution with bustling of dry leaves around. Far far away from the useless haste of city-life, wished I could just hit a pause button on the remote of life.

Had a stroll with friends/cousins, who have now grown to an age I can talk freely to them ;-)
The awesome foursome. L-R: Ishan, Neil, Ashank & Vaibhav @ Veena Lake!

Until 2-3 yrs back, it was too much of age gap to talk on anything and everything. After having amazing ginger flavoured masala tea, bread-butter and usaal-pav, we went to market, hogged more food (read Strawberry with cream and boiled corn), went to Mapro's Garden on the way back to Satara, had another session of hogging there, reached Panchgini late night. Had dinner despite no hunger, only because it was irresistibly tasty! After another wonderful night's sleep at home-sweet-home, was up at 6 in the morning to leave for Pune.

The 2nd of Jan marked start of another routine day at office.
