Hey Atul,

1.) You're using KDE 3.5 - wasn't KDE 4 released a while ago? (PS: out of touch with *n?x-based desktop environments lately)

2.) Weren't you on XP for several months? All your previous desktop screenshots were on XP. Had a Win machine at Nevis? Made the switch at CMU?

3.) Is this from your T43?

Yes, I'm running an older KDE. The reason is that because of my base distribution, Debian. There are 3 types of releases that debain maintains:
Stable(rock solid, only a meteorite can knock it out!)
Testing (lots of experimental stuff, still much stabler than most distros!)
Development (your system might fail to boot :D)

Debian has always been VERY VERY conservative about including latest stuff into their Stable and Testing releases. I'm on 'Testing' release. And so I'm usually about a year behind on using latest stuff of something as complex as KDE.
I've heard that the community does a thorough testing before they admit anything into mainstream distros!
But yes, I WOULD LOVE to move to KDE 4. If KDE 3.5 is sexy enough (hope you din't miss the transparent system status widgets on right side and transparent toolbaar at the bottom row!) how SEXY would KDE 4 be!!!

What do you use then, these days? Windoze? Please say no :D

Yes, my Nevis desktop used to run XP, that's all they gave. But I switched to Linux as my primary OS LONG back, way before coming to CMU, my T43 is been running on Linux since her first days. If you noticed (if I didn't hide the toolbar), all my Nevis snapshots has cygwin running, so I exported display from one of Nevis Linux machine, and be in Linux all day long :D
And I didn't know of good enough snapshot'ing tool in Linux (yea, was a tad lazy) and so I used to put the wallpapers on XP and snapshot them!
Plus, I wanted my Linux snapshots to come AFTER I had introduced by love to everybody! Which wasn't about a year later than I owned her. And X didn't work well on my home PC.

Yup, my T43. I just bought a T61 for my bro, but tell you what... T43 is really an epitome of quality! Alas IBM sold PC to Chinese, I regret that, and so would the rest of T4x owners. Txx is till better than all laptops, nonetheless!
